Terms of Use

Effective date: July 6, 2026

Welcome to Bibli. Bibli is a social book-ranking service that lets you rank the books you've read, build a personal canon, and discover books through people whose taste you trust. By creating an account or using Bibli (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Your account

You can sign in with Google or with an email magic link. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping access to your email or Google account secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use Bibli.

2. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create on Bibli — your rankings, notes, comments, profile details, and imported reading history. By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and share it as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing your rankings on your profile, in friends' feeds, and on share cards you generate).

You are responsible for what you post. Don't post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or infringes someone else's rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful or to harm others, including harassment or impersonation;
  • scrape, crawl, or bulk-download data from the Service without our written permission;
  • attempt to probe, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts;
  • use automated means to create accounts or manipulate rankings, follows, or likes.

4. Book data

Book titles, covers, and other catalog metadata are sourced from third-party providers such as Google Books and Open Library. This data is provided as-is and remains subject to those providers' terms. Book covers are displayed for identification purposes and belong to their respective rights holders.

5. The Service is provided as-is

Bibli is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will never be lost — please keep your own copies of anything important. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (currently zero — Bibli is free) or USD $50.

6. Termination

You can stop using Bibli and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at biblisupport@gmail.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or for operational reasons, and we may discontinue the Service with reasonable notice.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where practical, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
